Entity Density

Written and reviewed by Faizan Babar·Co-Founder, AnswerManiac·Updated November 2026

How richly a page covers the named entities a topic requires — not keyword repetition.

Entity density is how thoroughly a page covers the entities a topic genuinely involves — the related people, products, standards, methods and concepts a credible treatment would name — rather than how often a keyword repeats. A page on VR safety training that names the relevant standards, competitors and methods reads as expert; one that repeats the keyword but names none of them reads as thin.

Engines increasingly judge depth by entity coverage because it is hard to fake. Mentioning the right connected entities, accurately, signals genuine command of a topic in a way keyword frequency cannot. It also widens the set of queries your page can match, since each named entity is another anchor.

Building entity density means mapping the entities an authoritative page on your topic would cover, and making sure yours covers them naturally.
