AI Visibility
How present a brand is across AI answers — mentions and citations, not rankings.
AI visibility is a measure of how often and how prominently a brand appears across AI-generated answers. It is the AI-era successor to keyword rankings: instead of asking where you sit on a results page, it asks whether the model names you, cites your page, or recommends you when a buyer asks a category question.
Visibility is usually broken into levels. A mention names the brand with no link. A citation attributes or links a specific page. A recommendation places the brand in a ranked answer as an option worth choosing. These are tracked separately because they mean very different things — being mentioned once is not the same as being recommended first.
Because AI answers vary run to run and engine to engine, AI visibility is measured as a rate across a fixed set of buyer prompts and multiple runs, not a single snapshot. The honest metric is the share of your applicable queries where the engine names you, reported per engine.
Frequently asked
How do you measure AI visibility?
Run a fixed set of unbranded buyer prompts through each engine, repeatedly, and record the share where your brand is named or cited. Report it per engine as a rate, since AI answers change run to run.
