Microsoft Dynamics and Azure Partners in AI Search: 50 Integrators, Only 17 Cited
We scored 50 Microsoft Dynamics and Power Platform partners for AI visibility. 33 were invisible to ChatGPT and Perplexity. Western Computer led at 25%. Here's the data and the fix.

Quick Answer
Microsoft partners in AI search: We scored 50 Microsoft Dynamics 365, Business Central, and Power Platform partners by running unbranded buyer-intent queries through ChatGPT and Perplexity. Only 17 earned a citation; 33 were invisible, the worst ratio of any vertical in our 332-company Q3 study. Western Computer led at a 25% visibility rate, almost entirely through Perplexity (41%). Innovia Consulting followed at 14%. The channel is the single biggest untapped opportunity we found: two-thirds of partners are completely absent from AI answers.
There are thousands of Microsoft partners. Dynamics 365, Business Central, Power Platform, Azure. When a mid-market company decides to implement or migrate, it needs one, and increasingly it asks an AI engine which one. We wanted to know who actually comes back in that answer.
So we tested 50 Microsoft implementation partners the same way we test everything: unbranded, buyer-intent queries through ChatGPT (gpt-4o) and Perplexity (sonar-pro), scored as a visibility rate. It's one vertical in our Q3 2026 State of AI Search study of 332 B2B challengers. And it produced the most lopsided result in the entire study.
The worst visibility ratio in the study
33 of 50 Microsoft partners earned zero citations. That's a 66% invisibility rate, higher than cybersecurity, higher than SaaS, higher than NetSuite. If you sell Microsoft implementation services, two-thirds of your peer set does not exist as far as ChatGPT and Perplexity are concerned.
Here's who broke through.
| Partner | AI visibility rate | ChatGPT | Perplexity |
|---|---|---|---|
| Western Computer | 25% | 9% | 41% |
| Innovia Consulting | 14% | 0% | 27% |
| Gestisoft | 5% | 0% | 9% |
| Prodware | 5% | 5% | 5% |
| Velrada | 5% | 5% | 5% |
| Incremental Group | 3% | 5% | 0% |
| Barhead Solutions | 3% | 0% | 5% |
| MicroChannel | 3% | 5% | 0% |
Nine more firms (Cloud9 Insight, CloudFronts, Mercurius IT, Journey TEAM, Sabre Limited, Tecman, enCloud9, Infinity Group, iCepts Technology Group) earned 3% each. Everyone else earned nothing.
Western Computer's 25% is the standout, and the way it got there is the lesson of the whole vertical.
Perplexity is carrying this entire category
Western Computer scored 41% on Perplexity and only 9% on ChatGPT. Innovia scored 27% on Perplexity and 0% on ChatGPT. Across all 17 cited firms, Perplexity did almost all the work: it cited 15 of the vertical's partners, ChatGPT cited 5.
That's the study-wide pattern in its most extreme form. Overall, Perplexity cited 158 of our 332 companies and ChatGPT cited 52. In the Microsoft channel the gap is a chasm, and it tells you exactly where to spend your effort.
ChatGPT's gpt-4o barely names implementation partners at all, because few of them exist as strong, settled entities in its knowledge. Perplexity, running live retrieval against partner directories, case-study pages, and industry editorial, will surface a firm with a solid third-party footprint. For a Microsoft partner, Perplexity is not a secondary channel. It's the channel. We explain why the two engines diverge like this in ChatGPT vs Gemini vs Perplexity for B2B buyers.
If your marketing team has been told "we need to show up in ChatGPT," they're aiming at the hardest engine for your category and ignoring the one where you can actually win.

What the 17 did that the 33 didn't
The cited partners weren't bigger or older. They were more findable in the places AI engines read.
They had specific, repeated third-party coverage. Western Computer and Innovia show up in Business Central and Dynamics partner roundups, case-study libraries, and directories with consistent descriptions. A firm that only exists on its own site has no path into a Perplexity answer, because Perplexity is summarizing other people's pages, not yours.
They claimed a clear specialty. "Business Central partner for SMB." "Dynamics 365 and Power Platform." The cited firms named their lane in the language buyers use. The invisible ones hid behind "Microsoft solutions provider" or "digital transformation partner," phrases too generic to match a specific buyer query.
They were resolvable as entities. One name, one category, one consistent story. When an engine can't tell whether two listings are the same firm, or what the firm actually specializes in, it defaults to someone clearer. Entity work is slow but it's what eventually opens ChatGPT, and we break it down in entity optimization for AI knowledge graphs.
None of this is a budget game. It's the structural visibility work in the ANSWER Framework, and in a channel where 66% of firms are invisible, a little of it goes a long way.
The opportunity, plainly
This is the most open vertical we studied. The leader sits at 25%, meaning even Western Computer is absent from three of every four buyer queries. Thirty-three firms are at zero. There is no entrenched AI default for a buyer to anchor on.
If you run marketing for a Microsoft partner, here's the order of operations:
- Benchmark on Perplexity first. Run your real buyer queries ("best Business Central partner for manufacturing," "top Dynamics 365 implementation partner") and record whether you're named. Measure it as a visibility rate, not a count. Our free AI citation audit will do it with the same method we used here.
- Earn third-party mentions. Partner directories, industry roundups, case-study syndication, review profiles. This is the fastest path to Perplexity citations.
- Fix your entity. Consistent name, specialty, and description everywhere. This compounds into ChatGPT visibility over the following quarters.
The partners that move now will become the names the AI returns by default. In a channel this empty, that advantage will be hard to take back.
Frequently asked questions
Which Microsoft partner has the best AI visibility? In our Q3 2026 study, Western Computer led at a 25% overall visibility rate, driven mostly by Perplexity (41%). Innovia Consulting followed at 14%.
Why is the Microsoft partner channel so invisible to AI? Two-thirds of the firms we tested rely almost entirely on their own websites and generic positioning. AI engines, especially Perplexity, surface firms with specific, repeated third-party coverage, which most partners lack.
Should Microsoft partners focus on ChatGPT or Perplexity? Perplexity, decisively. In this vertical Perplexity cited 15 firms and ChatGPT only 5. Perplexity responds to third-party signals you can build; ChatGPT rewards long-established entity authority.
How were partners scored? Unbranded buyer-intent queries through ChatGPT (gpt-4o) and Perplexity (sonar-pro), scored as the percentage of applicable queries where the firm was named or cited, averaged across engines. Full method and all 50 firms on our research hub.
